Michael reports to Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri on 9/23/09 after successfully completing 7ish weeks of BOLC II at Ft. Benning - where he, of course, was awarded some cool coin thing for all-around outstanding-ness... voted by his peers and cadre... 2 points short of a perfect PT score... you know the deal - the man doesn't even try all that hard and he succeeds in these settings. It's very impressive each time it happens. If you're his facebook friend, drop him a line. He's a hardworker and we're proud of him.
As Michael heads into his next round of training - 14 weeks at Ft. Leonardwood, MO, lots more freedom (apt on base, evenings and weekends off) - we asked if we could go into the doc's office eary for an ultrasound. I think everyone knows we're expecting baby #2 in February 2010 - and if you don't - consider yourself now in the loop!
They couldn't guarantee us anything since we're pretty early (just barely 17 weeks - or 4 months, for you non-pregnancy speakers) but they made an exception since he was only home for a short period of time. Attached is the picture of the little one's profile. Aside from the typo - you can see what we're having... and bet, we've already melted just from the profile shot. The world isn't ready - we're barely prepared ourselves!

In other news - Becton hasn't necessarily grasped the concept of being a big brother just yet, but he does seem to have an affinity towards slapping my belly. We're working on nice touches so he's not bruising the baby when it gets here. He's 18 months going on grown and is simply a happy and delightful little boy. We just love him to pieces and are so happy that he is a healthy little boy with a wide imagination and growing vocabulary - not to mention some pretty smooth baby dance moves.
The pregnancy progresses well enough - bouts of indigestion and nausea are here to stay. As I told the midwife today, I can do the pregnancy deal and I can do the mommy deal after baby gets here. Your job is to help me get through the labor and delivery piece in a way that I maintain my sanity and decrease my anxieties. She's confident we can do it together. Work goes well and my program is very supportive of my needs for baby #2. We're all in a good place. =)
So we send lots of love from the Schultzes & hope all is well in your homes.
