Election ignorance (Michael)

It always amazes me everything there's a general election the amount of ignorance portrayed by general public. One person will spout off about how they're going to vote for candidate A and the other for candidate B. Then they'll have a debate, if it can even be called that, over non sensical issues that really have nothing to do with what each candidate represents. Seems too many people vote for a candidate based on surface issues such as what they look like, how old they are, what party they represent or what they promise in their speeches. Nevermind what the specifics of what their speeches promise or mean! I've questioned several individuals on why they like a certain candidate and they're so un-informed they don't have a real clue as to what he or she represents. Their answer is like "...just because..." . MMm, ah, ok I see Mr./Mrs. informed. Because it's these same majority who don't know anything about what their candidate represents because they're too dang lazy to read, watch the news or do any research on them.

So here's for you lazy bastards, a little bit on the two candidates for president.

Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MCCAIN0% on home sales up to $500,000
per home (couples) McCain does notpropose any change in existing
home sales income tax.OBAMA28% on profit from ALL home salesHow does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, youwill pay 28% of your gain on taxes.
If you are heading toward retirementand would like to down-size your
home or move into a retirementcommunity, 28% of the money you
make from your home will go to taxes. Thisproposal will adversely affect the
elderly who are counting on the incomefrom their homes as part of their retirement income.DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN 15% (no change)
OBAMA 39.6%How will this affect you?
If you have any money invested in stockmarket, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirementaccounts, or anything that pays
or reinvests dividends, you will nowbe paying nearly 40% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama become president.
The experts predict that 'higher
tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market yetdo absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.INCOME TAX
MCCAIN (no changes)Single making 30K - tax $4,500Single making 50K - tax $12,500Single making 75K - tax $18,750Married making 60K- tax $9,000Married making 75K - tax $18,750Married making 125K - tax $31,250OBAMA(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)Single making 30K - tax $8,400Single making 50K - tax $14,000Single making 75K - tax $23,250Married making 60K - tax $16,800Married making 75K - tax $21,000Married making 125K - tax $38,750Under Obama your taxes will more than double!How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is prettystraight forward.INHERITANCE TAX
MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)OBAMA Restore the inheritance taxHow does this affect you? Many families
have lost businesses, farms and ranches, and homes
that have
been in their familiesfor generations because they could not
afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved
ones will not only lose them tothese taxes.NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA
* New government taxes proposed on
homes that are more than2400 square feet
* New gasoline taxes (as if
gas weren't high enough already)
* New taxes on natural resources
consumption (heatinggas, water, electricity)
* New taxes on retirement accounts
and last but not least....* New taxes to pay for socialized medicine
so we can receive the samelevel of medical care as other
third-world countries!!!

SIDENOTE: Personally I think I'm going to be voting for the one candidate who isn't endorsed by terrorist organizations/states such as Hammas, Hezzbola, the PLO (Palestentian Liberation Org.) and Al Qaeda. Call me stupid but I just think it's the common sensical thing to do, not only as a red blooded American but as an American soldier. I'll also be voting for the one who also does not count communist Cuba, Russia, Venezuela and terror harboring states such Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria as his supporters. And as a God fearing Christian and a believer in our Bill of Rights, most notibly the 2nd Amendmant I support the one who doesn't think these two beliefs are for the birds. If you're not sure what this represents maybe, just maybe it's time to start reading and becoming more informed about the future of your country.

The information on this page is incorrect. Ironic since you take a shot at uninformed voters.
