For a red-blooded American soldier who loves his country only second to his God, it's a sad, sad day. It's a mournful day to see the American people reach a state where they are deceived into believing that the very government founded under God owes them more than their safety and opportunity to accomplish anything they would want or need.
You can pick any prophet from the Book of Mormon who mourns and cries to the Lord for the wickedness of his people as he sees them fall from greatness. I can only compare my feelings on this election day to what they likely felt. The founding fathers of our great America had a vision of a place where all men created equal would have minimal intervention by the great government set up to protect them and allow them to in turn serve, to help the country become greater.
Instead our country is now filled with a sickening mindset of citizens thinking they are owed something and that others who work with the ethics of our fore-fathers should share the prizes of their sweaty browes. We live in a country where the deceptive leanings of a political party and anti-democratic valued man can promise the "goods" and "re-distribution of wealth" to a people who so much want everything for free that they will bite tooth and nail to get it, not bothering to worry about lady liberty and how she will suffer. Never mind that the very promises and socio-political ambitions have already been seen in countless failed societies and civilizations throughout time!
Our country's people have become weak to the point that they believe they are owed something instead of knowing that they themselves are the ones who owe everything to God's land. Since our founding, great men and women have died fighting to preserve the rights of freedom and liberty. The same freedoms and liberties which have allowed each and everyone of us to give equally in taxes to build the country while at the same time getting what we put into our individual bodies of work. IE, you work for 80 hours and get 80 hours worth of reward. Another man works 20 hours and gets 20 hours of reward. A deceiver comes along, panders to a selfish society with promises of redistributed wealth and every man is led to believe that for 20 hours of work he or she will now get 80 hours of reward. Wow, seems like a great deal to me.
If I didn't believe in hardwork and equality I might even buy into that. Who wouldn't want something for free? Just look at our welfare lines and social programs run rampant and out of control in this world. Perhaps it's simpler than we want to believe. Maybe this is all about something for free. One man will promise you that if you work hard and sweat you'll get due reward. Another promises that you don't have to sweat or work hard and you'll get even more due rewards. No worries, we'll just take it from the sweaty browe of the hardworking man and all is well. Right? WRONG.
It didn't work with USSR (Soviet Union), or East Germany or Venezuela or Cuba. Just look at what a mess those countries are and don't say I didn't warn you. When Fidel Castro was coming into power he promised wealth and equality for all. The people welcome his new policies with open arms. How wrong they were. Nobody got anything and that country is now a hell hole where their citizens risk life and limb trying to float makeshift boats to the land of opportunity.
Don't tell me I'm the only one who is worried about the future of our country? I'm not so much upset with Obama Hussein than I am with the people of our great country. How could they do this to us? It sickens me to the stomache knowing our country is now full of so many ignorant and lazy people. What happened to the work ethic that made us so strong? What happened to the ethics and integrity which made us the envy of the world?
As a bright American patriot named Grant Watson once related that he might just move to Mexico...heck maybe I WILL move to Mexico, it's warmer than Canada and less populated since we're now allowing anyone into our country and electing even more insane people to run it.
And now a taste of the future for what our new communista president will bring along with his leftist agenda. These aren't my generalizations necessarily but merely his promises.
1. Long lines for subpar medical care. (Think your local DMV office and then some.)
2. The First and Second amendment, out the door. (For you ignorant Obama voters: Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press. Amendment 2 - Right to Bear Arms
3. Unconditional talks with terrorist states.
4. Weakening of our armed forces through defense spending cuts and pull-outs guaranteed to embolden our enemies.
5. Higher taxes in order to fund over-the-top government spending and programs designed to do nothing good but make our governmental machine larger and spending focused.
6. Guaranteed to bankrupt an entire coal industry by promises to tax any ideas for new coal-fired power plants into the ground.
7. Electing leftist liberal judges to the Supreme Court will make it their duty (albiet unconstitutional) to right economic and social wrongs. Nevermind that justice is supposed to be blind!
8. Limiting and constricting what programs can be on the radio. (Sounds more and more like Hitler to me, doesn't it to you?)
9. Iran will continue to bolster it's nuclear weapons ambitions while our next president talks nicely to them. Meanwhile they'll launch a full on attack on Israel (aka, God's chosen people.) while our leadership stands by and does nothing.
10. Russia continues to invade neighboring states. (see #9)
11. Economic policies will put the U.S. further into debt and economic decline.
12. A civilian security force better funded and stronger than our very own military!

...that basically sums up this election perfectly Mike. I realize there are a fraction of voters who did the research and aligned their own values & opinions with that of Senator Obama and then voted accordingly. But there are literally millions of voters who just went with the 'flow' and were so blinded by all of the CHANGE propoganda that their votes were severely uneducated. And in my opinion, they should have stayed home.
On the bright side, history has been made. And its only 4 years.

that's a low blow, mike, comparing Hitler's rise to power (blaming the Jews for the problems of the Germans, allowing eugenics to destroy the mentally ill and physically handicapped all in the name of creating a superior race) to Obama making history by being the first African American President.
I know you don't like the man and think he's the worst thing to happen to America... however, for what it's worth, and it's worth ALOT, this is a HISTORICAL moment for America and will go down in history as such.
He's not a dictator. He's not out creating Obama's army for children. Have a LITTLE decency to give respect to the OFFICE of the President even if you don't respect the person in office. Maybe you'll learn to respect him over time.
